We are hiring a Staff Trainer for Easter Seals Goodwill ND. This position is full-time status. 

General summary:

Manage the implementation of a comprehensive training program to support our quality services and employees. Ensure Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc (ESGWND). follows best practices by periodically reviewing service policies, processes and procedures to identify and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and/or accuracy of services, documentation, and training.  

Key responsibilities:

Partners with leadership to implement and deliver training programs to support a highly multi-skilled, safe workforce.
  • Prioritize, and coordinate training and development programs based on state requirements, business and individual employee needs.
  • Communicate training and development opportunities to employees and serve as the point of contact.
  • Organize training materials and scheduling training sessions.
  • Evaluate skills and attend to the learner’s challenges.
  • Create and/or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining of requirements.
  • Facilitate/Instruct CPR/1st aid, DD modules, Therapeutic Response (TR), new hire/annual training; and any additional training as needed.  
  • Administer the module competency tests, ensuring integrity and security of both blank and completes tests, answer sheets, and answer keys.
  • Submit state-mandated training materials to Minot State University, maintaining compliance with North Dakota regulatory standards and timelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of training compliance reports to National GII—Goodwill, Shopgoodwill, and to other entities as required, maintaining alignment with organizational standards and deadlines.
  • Be a part of an integrated team that helps facilitate the regulatory process in providing analytics and data to represent organizational efforts in accreditation and licensing.
  • Implement courses, curriculum, guides to meet workforce needs in the retail and e-commerce setting.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SME) to define target audience’s training objectives.
  • Positively promote the Mission, Vision and Values of ESGWND.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Manages a learning management system (LMS) to maximize its potential and meet diverse workforce needs.
  • Maintain, assign and track training materials.
  • Oversee the design, uploading, formatting, and organization of learning materials.
  • Develop reports, provide data analysis monthly to management on progress of employees.

Job criteria:
Education & experience
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 2 years of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of Developmental Disability modules through Minot State University and the University’s requirements for Direct Support Professionals. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning styles to support employees in learning and progressing through required training.
Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, or training and development preferred.
Must complete Certification in the DD Curriculum (DD Certified) within 1 year of assuming the position. Must become certified CPR/1st Aid and/or TR instructor within 1 year of assuming the position.  

Knowledge, skills, & abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate information and efficient record keeping systems.
  • Preferred experience working with a learning management system.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.

Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, walk and stand; talk both in person and by telephone; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close and distant focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
