Warehouse Associate

FLSA status: non-exempt
Starting Wage: $19/hr.
General summary:
The warehouse associate performs daily operations in the warehouse to include material handling and movement, salvage and recycling sorting, textile bailing, truck loading/unloading, donation sorting and processing, cleaning, and other duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Load and unload donated and purchased goods to and from trucks.
- Move containers of donated and purchased goods throughout the warehouse.
- Bale salvage textile clothing utilizing a vertical or horizontal baling machine.
- Assist in unloading bales from a vertical or horizontal baling machine.
- Sort donated goods from one container to another based on type of material.
- Sort and process donated textiles and other goods for sale in retail stores.
- Maintain the product inventory system in accordance with current standards and expectations.
- Accurately mark materials with required identifying information using approved methods.
- Utilize warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, rolling bins, and dollies.
- Utilize a yard-dog and arrange a trailer.
- Utilize a forklift, only if so certified, to move materials and load/unload trucks.
- Assist with cleaning the warehouse common areas such as restrooms, break room, warehouse floor, and workspaces.
- Interpret and abide by employer policies and safety regulations.

Job criteria:
Education & experience
High school diploma preferred not required. Prior experience operating forklifts or those who hold a current forklift certification are preferred. Prior warehouse, retail, logistics, or material experience a plus.
Knowledge, skills, & abilities
- Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
- Must exhibit proficiency in the use and operation of warehouse equipment to include pallet jacks, balers, and material handing containers.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Have knowledge of first aid and safety.
- Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance required to drive organizational or personal vehicle on ESGWND business.
- Ability to conceptualize, develop and implement creative plans (think ‘outside the box’).
- Ability to solve problems independently while working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.
- Exercise discretion, judgement and confidentiality.
Working conditions
Working conditions will be indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions of extreme cold or heat. There will be occasional overnight travel, overtime and/or working weekends. Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the plant and facility grounds. Conditions in the plant and facility grounds may include extreme temperatures, noise levels, and heights. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and 21-50 lbs. occasionally. Climb, balance, work at heights and work with arms above your head occasionally. Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist and squat, work on even and uneven surfaces. Ability to frequently push, pull, carry, grasp and finger objects. Subject to occasional vibration and hazards and on occasion exposed to fumes, dust or mist. Must have vision ability to encompass close-up and distant work, and the ability to speak and hear.
