Program Coordinator
Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND) is looking for a full-time Program Coordinator to join our team in our Fargo, ND office.
General Purpose: Perform various duties to coordinate the programs and services of ESGWND. The ideal candidate has leadership skills; knowledge of working with people with disabilities; and the ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement creative plans.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Be fully aware of and positively promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of ESGWND.
- Have a strong knowledge of ESGWND’s policies and procedures.
- Work with a team to plan and oversee Person-Centered Plans. This involves completing assessments, participating in meetings, and supporting the dreams, goals, and needs of people supported.
- Assure that Person-Centered Plans are being followed. Assure that Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) document the results so they can be used to determine if people are making progress in learning skills and meeting goals.
- Assure that Team Members are helping people supported to manage their finances, seek financial assistance, maintain and protect their personal possessions, arrange for transportation, be active in the community, and use its resources.
- Assure that Team Members are helping people maintain their homes and that the homes comply with health, safety, and ESGWND standards.
- Provide direction and support to DSPs so they can support people to achieve optimum health, and monitor/document health information.
- Assure that DSPs are trained to assist people in administering medications, and assure that people supported and their team schedule, attend, participate in, and follow recommendations received at medical appointments.
- Work closely with the HR department to hire and train DSPs.
Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field plus one year of experience in working directly with people with developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to those with a psychology, social work, education, or gerontology degree.
- QDDP (Qualified Developmental Disability Professional) certified or willing to obtain.
- Become certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Become certified in Developmental Disabilities according to a prescribed schedule for completion of modules.
